Letter from Aunt Lil and Uncle Vic

April 16, 2020

April 16, 2020

Thursday evening

Our dear Frank,

We were of course very much surprised and so sorry to hear of your illness and hope this will find you feeling very much better. Now if you had only had Dr. English he would helped you so quick and wish he had your case now. Clesteo is one of the best things for it and clears out the system so well. Expect "B" [Frank's sister Bess?] has talked your ears loose since she returned home.

Uncle Vic watches for the mail man to come each day to see if any word from Earlville. Wished you was here today so you could had chicken sandwiches, as we had chicken (or hen) for dinner. Well here is best wishes and hope you may soon be out.

With loads of love,

Vic and Lill

Dear Frank,

Grandma wrote and told me you were sick so I thought I’d wirte you. I hope you will get well soon.

We are playing ball down here after school.

I have a new canteen so if we go on a hike this summer we will have plenty of water.

I have been working hard in school. I got the highest average in the class last month,

Do you like it better in the town or down on your farm.

I have moved to the next block and my address is at the top of this page.

My father and I went to the park this afternoon. In the morning we went up on the roof and all had our picture taken,

Get well soon and I will be up in the country this summer.

Your chum

Dick Avery

Moscow

April 20/20

My dear Frank,

I am not in Russia. Couldn't get that far in two days. The X you see on this side is where I sold some calendars last year, but not this year. Hope you are getting strong.

Pop

Note: This town is now called Leicester. Moscow does not exist.

From Frank's father John [Pop] to Frank

April 21st, 1920

My dear Frank.

I'm driving From Mount Morris to Perry. I saw the home of U.S. Senator James Wadsworth at Geneseo. Fine home and he owns thousands of acres of fertile land and Genesee Valley. Hope you are gaining. I leave here in a few minutes, 5:15 P.M.

I have not heard from home yet.

Much love,

Pop
