My Darling,
Will begin a letter tonight and we'll try to finish it tomorrow. It is very warm tonight and has been hot all day and I am tired and ready for bed at 9:30 tonight. About noon I left here for New Albany, Dunshore and Mildred and returned here at 8:30. So you see, I have had a busy day and have not had time to dread Sunday. I got two small orders here this morning for $28.40 and $53.26, and got two on my afternoon trip for $28.
And $40.50. My sales for the week are 19 for $760.21. That's not a big amount, but it helped. Out song. We are way behind. Our last year's sales and it's going to be out of the question to catch up, but feel that we must do what we can. The drive out to Mildred, 25 miles each way, was delightful, dirt roads but very good, and the scenery was wonderful.
I will try to get at an idea of where I am to go next week and let you know tomorrow. I really ought to spend Monday in this town. It's disgraceful to have so little business here but may decide to let it go till later and cover a greater number of small towns on this trip.
Must get to bed.
Your loving,
Jack

If you're new to this project, please consider going to our site and catching up with a few letters from the 1900-1910 era. The letters only take 3-5 minutes to read and you'll find the characters more fully develop if you read the letters chronologically.
John has excellent handwriting. However, in some instances, I cant decipher it. If I can't, I simply mark the spot with "xxx"s to signify thank the word isn't decipherable.
