My Dear Sue:
It is 8:00 PM and I have just arrived here and found your good letter waiting for me. I had forgotten about the idea of going to Vernon and then on to the Beach. We could not get time to do much business and still go to the beach for the day. Would like to run up to Rome some day and call on the folks before Marion goes back to school, but don't know whether we can or not. Business is very bad-Not an order again today. And it hurts. Have worked in Spencer, Herschells and one or two smaller towns. We'll spend tomorrow here and can't say for sure where I'll be for Sunday. It may be Corning for I know I can't get to Wellsboro this week. Have worked hard but have not come even near to an order. It's trying my patience! Unless I can write you definitely tomorrow night about towns will send you a night letter Saturday night. Have been pretty lonesome this week.
Accept much love for each loved one,
Your Jack

John has excellent handwriting. However, in some instances, I cant decipher it. If I can't, I simply mark the spot with "xxx"s to signify thank the word isn't decipherable.
